What to do for 2027

  1. If your insurer isn't offering plans in your area for 2027, Georgia Access says you need to pick a new plan.

  2. Enroll by December 15, 2026 for coverage starting January 1, 2027. Enrolling by January 15 starts coverage February 1, which leaves a one-month gap.

  3. List your doctors, hospital and prescriptions, then check them against each new plan's network and drug list.

  4. Cigna's myDiabetesCare plans had $0 preferred insulin. Compare insulin and supply costs closely: Ambetter, Oscar and CareSource offer diabetes-focused plans.

  5. Your deductible and out-of-pocket totals start over with a new insurer on January 1. If you're in ongoing treatment, such as pregnancy, cancer care or a scheduled surgery, check your doctors' networks before you switch. Cigna dental plans aren't part of the exit. If you have one, confirm that coverage separately.
