What's changing in the Mississippi Marketplace for 2027?
Cigna exits individual plans in every state after 2026. Mississippi's insurance commissioner says Molina is leaving the Marketplace too. Members of either must choose a new insurer.
Average increases on file with the state run from 18.2% at Ambetter to 32.6% at Oscar, before tax credits. UnitedHealthcare filed 20.8%.
The extra tax credits ended after 2025. Above 400% of the federal poverty level, you generally pay a plan's full price.
Ambetter sold in all 82 counties in 2026. UnitedHealthcare and Oscar did not, so about a dozen counties may be left with Ambetter alone.

Which metal level fits how you use care?
Metal levels set how you and the plan share costs. The network, not the metal level, decides which doctors you can see.

Enroll by December 15 for coverage that starts January 1; the last day to sign up is January 15. Outside open enrollment you need a qualifying life event, such as losing other coverage, moving, marrying or having a baby.
Not necessarily. The prices on this page are before tax credits. Tax credits depend on your household size and income, and they can lower the monthly premium a lot. The plan finder estimates your price after tax credits.
48 of Mississippi's 48 plans for 2026 are HMOs or EPOs, which only pay for in-network care except emergencies. Check that your doctors and hospital are in the plan's network before you enroll.
Compare before you let it renew. Mississippi insurers filed 2027 increases of about 18% to 33% before tax credits, and your plan or its network may change. Your new tax credit can change too.
Mississippi hasn't expanded Medicaid. Adults under 65 without children or a disability don't qualify at any income, and parents qualify only at very low income. Apply at medicaid.ms.gov or through HealthCare.gov.
On HealthCare.gov, through an approved insurer or broker website, or with a licensed agent. The plans and prices are the same everywhere you enroll.
No. It sells individual plans only off the Marketplace, so tax credits can't be used with them. Plans you can buy with credits come from Ambetter, UnitedHealthcare and Oscar.
Marketplace tax credits start at 100% of the poverty level. Mississippi hasn't expanded Medicaid, so many adults under that line fall in a coverage gap. Check Medicaid rules first.
Not automatically. A new insurer has its own network. Look up your doctors and hospital in each plan's directory before you pick, and ask your doctor's office which plans it takes.
