What's changing in the Louisiana Marketplace for 2027?
Every 2026 insurer filed 2027 plans for HealthCare.gov. Cigna's national exit doesn't affect Louisiana, because Cigna doesn't sell individual plans here.
Final filings run from 10.5% at AmeriHealth Caritas Next to 24.5% at Ambetter, before tax credits. The statewide average is about 18%.
Many expansion adults ages 19 to 64 must meet an 80-hour monthly rule through a job, classes or community service. Caregivers and some others are exempt.
In Allen, Avoyelles, Lafourche, Terrebonne and Winn, only the two Louisiana Blue companies sold plans in 2026. UnitedHealthcare skipped four New Orleans-area parishes.

Which metal level fits how you use care?
Metal levels set how you and the plan share costs. The network, not the metal level, decides which doctors you can see.

Louisiana expanded Medicaid in 2016. Adults under 65 with income up to 138% of the poverty level may qualify. From January 1, 2027, many expansion adults must show 80 hours a month of work, school or volunteering. Apply through Louisiana Medicaid at ldh.la.gov or on HealthCare.gov.
On HealthCare.gov, through an approved insurer or broker website, or with a licensed agent. The plans and prices are the same everywhere you enroll.
HMO Louisiana sells Louisiana Blue's POS plans, including Blue POS and regional networks like Blue Connect. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana sells the statewide Blue Max and Blue Saver PPOs. Networks and prices differ, so compare both.
Usually not. Under the 2025 federal law, people denied or dropped from Medicaid for not meeting the work requirement generally can't get Marketplace tax credits. Ask Louisiana Medicaid about exemptions first, and keep your contact details current.
Not in 2026. It left Jefferson, Orleans, Plaquemines and St. Charles after LCMC Health left its network. Check HealthCare.gov in November to see its 2027 parishes.
