Wellpoint (the Amerigroup name in Texas) sold Marketplace plans in 30 counties in 2026 with about 116,000 members. It filed a 15.3% average 2027 increase, driven mostly by risk adjustment.

What makes Wellpoint different

Most plan names include $0 virtual primary care, $0 select drugs and a rewards program.
Gold 800 and Gold POS 700 hold most members, with deductibles of $800 and $700 and $5 generics.
POS plans add some out-of-network coverage; HMO plans do not, except emergencies.
Thirty counties across Houston, Dallas–Fort Worth, San Antonio, El Paso, the Rio Grande Valley, Lubbock and Southeast Texas.
