What makes UnitedHealthcare different
Every plan name says No Referrals. Michigan Exchange members can see an in-network specialist without a primary care referral.
The 2027 brochure lists 17 counties, adding Huron, Lapeer, Sanilac, St. Clair and Tuscola while still skipping most of the state.
The 2026 Exchange map centers on Corewell (Beaumont) and Tenet/DMC. Henry Ford also lists UnitedHealthcare Community Plan Marketplace products.
Filed average of 25.5%, with the memo citing a 1.173 factor for the end of enhanced subsidies.

Is UnitedHealthcare a good fit?
A good fit if
- You live in one of the 12 to 17 counties UnitedHealthcare covers and want a no-referral HMO
- Your doctors are at Corewell, DMC or Henry Ford Exchange locations
- You want dental and vision buy-up versions on some Bronze, Silver and Gold plans
Think twice if
- The 2027 proposed rate increase is the highest among Michigan Marketplace insurers. Compare prices after tax credits.
- Confirm doctors and hospitals for the Individual Exchange product. Commercial UnitedHealthcare participation is not the same network.
- CMS Medical Care scored 2 of 5 stars for 2026. Member experience was not rated.
