On a National Health Insurance Co. (Allstate Benefits / Nationwide) plan?

National Health (Allstate Benefits / Nationwide) stopped new Florida small-group sales in December 2025 and filed no 2027 rates. In-force groups are non-renewed at their 2027 renewal.

Find a replacement carrier

  1. Check your renewal date. National Health Insurance Co. groups get a non-renewal notice at least 180 days before it.
  2. Match your network. Compare Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare and the regional HMOs in your county on the doctors and hospitals your employees use.
  3. Tell employees early. The carrier notifies you and your broker; telling staff is up to you.
  4. Ask about continuity of care for anyone in active treatment.

  1. Average proposed 2027 changes range from +8.4% to +15.5%, as filed. Your group's change also depends on employee ages and the plan you pick.

Florida small group rules employers ask about

Who counts as a small employer

  • 1 to 50 employees, averaged over last year’s business days, with at least one employee on day one.
  • Owner-only and family-only businesses go to the individual market.

Fla. Stat. § 627.6699(3); Florida DFS small group carrier list

How premiums are set

  • By age, tobacco, county and plan. Carriers can’t use health status.
  • Composite premiums are allowed only for groups of 10 or more.

45 CFR §147.102; Fla. Stat. § 627.6699(6)(b)

When you can enroll

  • Any month if you meet participation and contribution rules.
  • Miss those rules and you can still enroll November 15 to December 15 for a January 1 start.

45 CFR §147.104; Fla. Stat. § 627.6699(5)(e)

Tax credit and SHOP

  • Pays up to 50% of premiums (35% tax-exempt) for fewer than 25 FTEs.
  • No Florida carrier sold through SHOP in 2026, so most employers can’t claim it.
